If you experience sharp pain or numbness on this test you may need to consult with an Active Life coaches before proceeding with Bulletproof Shoulders. It may not be the best solution for you.


Assessment Standards

  • Perform before and after you warm up
  • This assessment, like other things, is better with a partner

Range of Motion Standards

  • Thumb(s) to floor
  • Both arms have similar range of motion
  • Back stays flat on floor
  • Pain free

Question: Why test before and after warming up?
Answer: If range of motion improves as you warm up there is a good chance we can permanently improve your range of motion with Bulletproof Shoulders. If range of motion stays the same or gets worse when you warm up you need to contact an Active Life coach.

Question: I feel pain during the assessment. Should I knock out a few hundred butterfly pull-ups to loosen things up?
Answer: Please no. Contact an Active Life coach.

Question: I failed this test. Should I do kipping pull ups?
Answer: probably not. Contact an Active Life coach.

Question: My shoulders hurt but I passed this test. What should I do?
Answer: Great question. It's possible you have a strength balance issue but we need more info to be sure. Contact an Active Life coach.
